Chassis Noise Level Database

THE FOLLOWING DATABASE INCLUDES ALL CHASSIS THAT WE HAVE EVALUATED SO FAR.

All measurements are conducted at 23-26 degrees Celsius ambient using lab-grade equipment and a hemi-anechoic chamber, with lower than 6 dB(A) noise floor. We focus on the noise dampening performance of each chassis, which in layman's terms is to what degree the chassis lowers the noise that the system outputs.

A difference of 3 dB(A) sound dampening represents a doubling of sound intensity, or acoustic power. Nonetheless, the relative loudness (or loudness perception) that we perceive is a subjective psychological phenomenon, not something that can be objectively measured. According to psychoacousticians, most people perceive one sound to be twice as loud as another one when their difference is between 6 to 10 dB(A). You can read more on this subject here

Besides the noise dampening performance, we also include the speed and the noise output of the chassis' stock fan(s). Finally, see the provided report for more details.
